The Moorings Comments on the sailing area
Day 1: Palermo - Cefalu • Visit Cefalu and relax on its beautiful beach. Enjoy the winding, narrow, medieval streets. Dine in its delightful restaurants overlooking a rocky coast. Don’t miss the Norman-Arab-Byzantine cathedral, one of the greatest churches of southern Europe.
Day 2: Cefalu - Filicudi • Spend the day on Filicudi, the most ragged of the islands with its steep slopes, rocky coastlines and craters as its main features. The small village has a wonderful bar and restaurant.
Day 3: Filicudi - Salina • Today enjoy Salina, with blooming vegetation and more than 400 different types of plants growing there. Experience the beautiful volcanoes that contribute to it having the highest peaks of any island around.
Day 4: Salina - Panarea • Travel to Panarea and relax on the smallest, but amazingly picturesque island. See why Panarea is said to be the liveliest of the Aeolian Islands with famous nightclubs and pubs.
Day 5: Panarea - Lipari Visit Lipardi, the oldest and largest of the Aeolian Islands. Enjoy not only the sea but also its archaeology, art, castles and museums.
Day 6: Lipari - Alicudi Spend today at Alicudi, the most isolated of the Aeolian Islands. It has spectacular shores and an interesting underwater panorama. There are no cars on the island, only donkeys.
Day 7: Alicudi - Ustica Travel to Ustica, also called the “Black pearl” because of the colouring of its volcanic rock forms. Be sure to see Azur Grotto, a half-submerged cavity with crystal clear waters and walls decorated by sponges of various shapes and charming colours.
Day 8: Ustica – Palermo Journey back to Palermo and depart
