Remember that the tide comes in and out broadly in line with the rule of twelfths over a six hour period as follows:

Hour 1 – 1/12
Hour 2 – 2/12
Hour 3 – 3/12
Hour 4 – 3/12
Hour 5 – 2/12
Hour 6 – 1/12
High Tide
Hour 1 – 1/12
Hour 2 – 2/12
Hour 3 – 3/12
Hour 4 – 3/12
Hour 5 – 2/12
Hour 6 – 1/12
